Destination International's Destination NEXT initiative outlines the “Strategic Roadmap for the next generation of Global Destination Marketing.”
Louisville Tourism has worked with Destinations International to utilize their diagnostic tool, Destination Next, in assessing Louisville as a destination in 2016 and 2018. More than 327 other destinations worldwide have undertaken this assessment and use the results to plan for the future.
The results of the survey are essentially a report card for the health and benchmarking of Louisville as a destination. More than 500 stakeholders were asked for their input in both studies on topics from hotel and convention products to variety of attractions, airlift, safety, technology and branding.
The vision of Destination Next is “to provide destination organizations with a powerful assessment tool and practical actions and strategies for sustainable success in a dramatically changing world”.
Two studies were conducted in hopes of tracking advancements in comparison and to gain insights to keep Louisville moving in the right direction for economic development.
The results are clear…Louisville has the momentum for an exciting future.
