Frazier History Museum Named Best Museum in Kentucky!

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (August 15, 2025) – The Frazier History Museum has been voted the Best Museum in Kentucky, according to Kentucky
Living magazine.
“This recognition shows our staff, our board, our members, and our supporters that we are doing good work promoting all that
is cool about Kentucky—to both the Commonwealth and tourists. There are so many incredible museums in Kentucky and we are proud to be among them, so this is
truly special,” said Frazier President Andy Treinen.
In the past year, the Frazier History Museum has opened exhibitions on love and marriage in Kentucky and historic photography in the state. Subjects of permanent exhibitions include Kentucky history, Kentucky counties, Kentucky pop culture, Bourbon whiskey, the Lewis & Clark Expedition, the Stewart Historic Miniatures Collection, the Founder’s Gallery, and KentuckyShow!
This year, the museum has hosted programs on rescue dog EthanAlmighty, U of L Coach Pat Kelsey, folk musician John Prine, the “Happy Birthday”–composing Hill sisters, Affrilachian poet Frank X Walker, Norton West Louisville Hospital, ten years of marriage equality, Civil War nurse Lucy Nichols, and the Packhorse Librarians of Eastern Kentucky.
The Frazier History Museum serves tens of thousands of students, educators, and families each year, offering camps, field trips, youth and family programs. Other projects include The Journey: Unsung Stories of the Underground Railroad, the Frazier+ mobile app, and the Kentucky Wide podcast. Our Stories in Mind team brings the Frazier into long-term care facilities for senior citizens. Our annual fundraisers include Night at the Frazier, Michter’s Speakeasy at the Frazier, Frazier Summer Beer Fest, the
Owsley Brown Frazier Classic Sporting Clay Tournament, and Lights on Main.
