LouGrass is Louisville’s take on Kentucky’s beloved bluegrass music—born in the hills of Appalachia and raised on acoustic instruments and rich traditions. It’s a celebration of Kentucky roots music that blends bluegrass with Americana, blues, jazz, and more.

From April through November, we present a special series: the LouGrass Sessions, where you can hear the sounds of LouGrass throughout the city, with free live performances at unique local venues every weekend.

Louisville has long been part of bluegrass history, from hosting major festivals to serving as home to legendary musicians.
