The Outer Fossil Bed Experience

Long-time Park volunteer, Paul Olliges, will present a program on exploring the outer fossil beds. This can only be accessed on foot from Indiana with the upper dam gates are closed, usually August 15 – October 15. Paul will show photos of scenes on the outer fossil beds and describe this unique hike that is unlike any other. Five guided outer fossil bed hikes are scheduled between August 23 and October 12, 2025. Program meets in the Interpretive Center classroom; the $2 fee is covered by a grant from the Falls of the Ohio Foundation. Exhibit gallery admission is not included.
