The "Hatcheting" of Carry Nation: A Sip and Lecture Experience
The “Hatcheting” of Carry Nation will explore the life and activism of one of history’s most infamous Social Reformers. We will discuss how a young Nation, born to a slave holding Kentucky family, was impacted and influenced by the individuals and events surrounding her. Why she ultimately felt compelled to “Hatchetations.” And the societal context surrounding her controversial tactics. Nation is often a footnote, a quick example of fanatical activism. This lecture will add dimension to the activist, wife, mother, business owner, lecturer, publisher, and more.
