Nature (+) Gelli Plate Printmaking

In this 2-hour hands-on class, you'll explore the art of Gelli plate printmaking inspired by nature’s textures and patterns.

• Use gelli plates to capture the fine details of leaves, flowers, and other natural materials
• Experiment with layering and blending colors for dreamlike effects
• Explore techniques for applying and removing ink, paint, and other materials to create intricate designs
• Work with different papers and surfaces to achieve a variety of textures and finishes
• The class begins with a short walk around the Garden Pavilion, guided by a Volunteer Naturalist who will share insights into the landscape, before settling in to create one-of-a-kind artworks.
