Bourbon Barons, Racetrack Royalty, and Titans of Tobacco: The Original Old Louisville Walking Tour

See why The New York Times recommends the ORIGINAL Old Louisville Walking Tour as the first thing to do during your "36 Hours in Louisville" today!

Join us on this immersive jaunt and step back in time to discover the history of one of the largest historic preservation districts in the United States. With more than 40 square blocks of grand residences and quaint cottages from the late 1800s and early 1900s, this Victorian neighborhood just south of downtown Louisville offers a rare glimpse of a bygone era. During almost two hours of leisurely strolling, you'll hear stories of the bourbon barons, racetrack royalty, and the titans of tobacco who used to reside in the opulent mansions and inviting townhouses on tree-lined St. James Court and Millionaires Row. At the same time, you'll learn about the wide variety of architectural styles embodied in the grand homes along Ormsby Avenue and around Olmsted-designed Central Park. In addition, a friendly guide will take you through secluded walking courts like Floral Terrace and gaslit Belgravia Court, areas that you probably wouldn't find on your own.

Tours are offered seven days a week at 11AM, as well as at 9AM, 1PM, and 3PM. Group tours and private tours are also available.
