Louisville Ballet

Overview

Louisville Ballet is celebrating its 72nd anniversary of making moving art. As the official state ballet of Kentucky, it is the fifth oldest ballet company in the United States founded in 1952. The company creates moving art that respects tradition, encourages innovation, and fosters life-long learning. We inspire connection, conversation and a profound sense of community, by striving for bold collaborations, by nurturing the next generation of artists, by celebrating diversity, and by creating access for all.

ROMEO & JULIET
March 1-2, 2024| Whitney Hall, The Kentucky Center
Louisville Ballet’s own breathtaking production, designed and choreographed by Alun Jones, beautifully portrays the bitter feud between the Montague and Capulet families that disrupts the city of Verona and ends in tragedy for Romeo and Juliet. Revenge, love, and a secret marriage force the young star-crossed lovers to grow up far too quickly — and fate takes their lives.
