In this episode Stacey and Jessica make a Wilted KY Bibb Salad and a Blackberry Shrub cocktail.
Wilted Salad with Kentucky Bibb Lettuce
- 1 head of Bibb Lettuce
- 1 T sugar
- 1 ½ T bacon grease
- 2 T apple cider vinegar
- Pinch of salt and pepper to taste
Rinse and prepare lettuce on two individual plates. Keep chilled.
Bring to a slight boil the grease, sugar, salt and pepper. Turn off heat and stir in vinegar.
Drizzle over greens and serve immediately.
- 2 cups blackberries
- 2 cups white granulated sugar
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups red wine vinegar
Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove from the stove and add a few sprigs of thyme and vinegar.
- 1.5 ounces shrub syrup
- 1.5 ounces bourbon
- Sparkling water
Shake bourbon and shrub syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a glass with ice. Top with sparkling water.
