Angel’s Envy has just opened its doors in Louisville’s historic Whiskey Row.
The distillery, located at 500 E. Main St. across from Slugger Field at the sites formerly occupied by Baer Fabrics and the Vermont American, underwent a $27 million renovation. The 90,000-square-foot facility takes up an entire block of Jackson Street and features a visitor center, gift shop and courtyard.
It’s been three years since construction began on the downtown Bourbon distillery, and more than a decade since the Henderson family began contemplating the brand.
Angel’s Envy is open for public tours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday-Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15. Online reservations are required. Visit www.angelsenvy.com.
Have an Urban Bourbon Experience this winter while you’re visiting Louisville. In addition to Angel’s Envy, be sure and stop by the five other distilleries open for tours in the city, including the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, Kentucky Peerless Distilling, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Experience, Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse and Copper & Kings. Take in the Urban Bourbon Trail, a pub crawl of the city’s best Bourbon bars and restaurants, which has grown to 36 stops.
