Including downtown’s new, nightly “40 Nights of Lights” music and lights show.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (November 19, 2012) – Louisville offers holiday visitors of all ages wonderful things to do, from time honored holiday traditions to festive performing arts and entertainment, some of the best shopping and dining in the Southeast, and an array of special seasonal events at popular attractions.

Five fun things to do in Louisville during the 2012 holiday season include:

1) Enjoy a holiday lights exhibit like Christmas at the Galt’s KaLightoscope, Lights Under Louisville at Louisville MEGA Cavern or the new 40 Nights of Lights in downtown.

2) Watch a holiday performance such as A Christmas Story and A Christmas Carol at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas and A Fairy Tale Christmas at Derby Dinner Playhouse, Colors of the Season at the Galt House Hotel & Suites, or the Louisville Ballet’s Nutcracker.

3) Eat and drink with the characters of the season from the snow fairy princess to Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

• Breakfast/brunch with the snow fairy princess at the Galt House Hotel and Suites and Santa at the Historic Seelbach Hilton’s Oakroom and Santa Experience at The Summit.
• Tea with a princess at the Frazier History Museum.
• Cookies with Mrs. Claus at Santa's Safari at the Louisville Zoo.

4) Ride The Polar Express 4-D Experience at the Louisville Zoo. Based on the inspiring and beloved Caldecott Medal children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg this 20-minute experience includes 3-D and 4-D effects that will make a believer out of just about anyone.
