The event will feature beer and wine tastings from BBC Taproom, BBC, Cumberland Brews, New Albanian Brewing Company, Brownings, Falls City Beer, Kentucky Ale, and Riverbend Winery, as well as other hometown refreshments from Rooibee’s Red Tea, Farm to Fork Catering, Red’s Comfort Foods and more. There will also be giveaways, a silent auction, and live music from Midnite Sons, Hand Brigade, Dallas Alice, and The Ladybirds. Admission is free, and in order to drink attendees must be 21+ and purchase a $2 souvenir cup. Complimentary rides will be provided by City Scoot after 7:30pm.

Beer tickets can be purchased at the door for $1 each, redeemable for food and beer (i.e. 1 ticket = 1 beer sample, 3 tickets = 1 full beer). LIBA individual memberships will be available for $10, and new members will receive a commemorative “Weird” beer glass and a “Spread the Weird” sticker. LIBA will also unveil and distribute the new 2010 Summer Directory at the event.

“LIBA is joining the American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA) and thousands of independent business owners and citizens nationwide who are participating in Independents Week to celebrate our great independent businesses who exemplify the uniqueness of Louisville,” says LIBA Founder John Timmons. “This event is a way for Louisvillians to celebrate their freedom from the same old beer anyone can get in any old place.”

This event is sponsored by the Frankfort Avenue Business Association, Tina Ward-Pugh – 9th District Councilwoman, ValuMarket, and LEO. For more information visit www.keeplouisvilleweird.com/beer.
