LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 14, 2019) – Louisville Tourism was recognized for its PR and marketing efforts with a prestigious Award of Distinction at the Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s (KTIA) annual conference.

The Award of Distinction honored a new marketing initiative highlighting some of the city’s most one-of-a-kind and imaginative landmarks that make great photo opps in downtown Louisville for visitors to experience.

A rack card, available at the Louisville Visitor Center (301 S. Fourth St.), highlights these selfie spots that are unique to Louisville. Iconic landmarks featured include the Louisville Slugger baseball bat standing outside the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory (at 120-feet tall and 68,000 pounds, it’s dubbed “The World’s Largest Baseball Bat”). It also features the 30-foot statue of David (inspired by Michelangelo’s 16th century marble statue of David) outside the 21c Museum Hotel, and a rocks glass filled with faux bourbon in the front window of the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience.

The Award of Distinction was presented during the conference’s annual Traverse Awards Gala, which honors travel professionals in Kentucky for their talents, creativity and effectiveness in marketing and public relations. The event was held Nov. 6-8 in Covington, Ky., and attended by hundreds of tourism leaders from across Kentucky.

In addition, Louisville Tourism won 22 other awards, including four Gold Awards and numerous Silver and Bronze.
