Multiple Music Festivals Take Centerstage
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 9, 2019) – Music is taking centerstage in Louisville this September with several festivals on the fall calendar lineup.
A who’s who of Grammy Award winners and music superstars – from the Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses and Daryl Hall and John Oates – to Tim McGraw, Little Big Town and Keith Urban are headed to Louisville.
Here’s a look at the music festival fever taking place this month in Louisville:
Hometown Rising – This country music and Bourbon festival makes its debut September 14 and 15 at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Tim McGraw, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and Keith Urban will perform, along with some of the biggest names in country music. HometownRising.com
National Jug Band Jubilee – The nation’s top jug bands are headed to Louisville – the home of jug band music (a pre-World War II jazz style that thrived from 1890 to 1930) for the 15th annual event, held Sept. 14 at the Brown-Forman Amphitheater at Waterfront Park. American folk revival pioneer Jim Kweskin, who founded the legendary Jim Kweskin Jug Band in the 1960s and influenced bands like the Grateful Dead and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, will perform. Bourbon & Beyond – This music, Bourbon and culinary festival is back for the third year with three days of rock, roots, bluegrass and folk music paired with one-of-a-kind Bourbon and culinary experiences in the epicenter of America’s Native Spirit – Bourbon City. Held Sept. 20-22 at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center, the star-studded lineup includes: Foo Fighters, Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters, Zac Brown Band, John Fogerty, Daryl Hall & John Oates, ZZ Top and many more.
