Doug Bennett Awarded a ‘Visionary Leader’ by Industry Heavyweight PCMA

Louisville Tourism’s Executive Vice President recognized as the 2024 Supplier of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 15, 2024) – Louisville Tourism’s Executive Vice President, Doug Bennett, was recognized as the 2024 Supplier of the Year by the well-known business events organization, Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).

The Visionary Awards was established to honor and celebrate the business event industry’s exceptional stars. The annual celebration recognized 21 Professional Excellence Finalists across seven categories for extraordinary contributions to their organizations and their impact on the professional development of others. The recipients were announced live at the April 11 celebration in Washington DC.

“As I congratulate Doug, I want to take this opportunity to recognize how highly respected his contributions are - not only in Louisville but to our industry as a whole,” said Cleo Battle, President & CEO of Louisville Tourism. “Doug is truly a visionary leader who may not have set out to create a legacy but ultimately has throughout his steadfast dedication to our industry. We are thrilled to celebrate this well-deserved recognition by PCMA.”

Bennett is a Certified Association Sales Executive (CASE) with more than 35 years of hospitality experience. He joined the Louisville CVB in October 2015 as Senior Vice President of Convention Development, where he oversaw a department of 16 sales team members responsible for booking over 700,000 annual room nights. In 2021, Bennett transitioned to his current role as Executive Vice President of Louisville Tourism.

He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science, Hospitality and Tourism Management. Doug is a past Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Foundation Board member, serves on several PCMA committees as well as the board of directors for the Kentucky Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Louisville Sports Commission. He is a past board member of Association Forum and currently serves on several committees promoting the power of associations.
