Louisville Tourism, the premier destination marketing organization for the city of Louisville, is seeking an innovative and dynamic Social Media Coordinator to join our team. Our mission is to increase visitation to Louisville, thereby boosting the city's economic impact through tourism. The ideal candidate will be a social media enthusiast with a passion for storytelling, visual aesthetics, and digital marketing trends. This role will report to the Marketing Communications Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and curate engaging social media content that resonates with Louisville Tourism’s target audience.
- Manage and execute daily posts, stories and/or reels across social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube, for the @GoToLouisville accounts.
- Work with content team to develop monthly content calendars.
- Implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness and drive engagement.
- Collaborate with content team to develop strategy and best practices for Louisville Tourism’s onboarding of social media platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Pinterest.
- Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with content team, photographers, videographers, and other creatives to capture new content that enhances Louisville Tourism's social media presence.
Ability to visit local restaurants, attractions, events, etc. to capture real time content. - Repurpose existing photo and video assets for optimal performance across various social media platforms.
- Ensure consistency in voice, branding, and messaging across all social channels.
- Coordinate with the marketing comms team to align social media content with ongoing campaigns, promotions and content pillars.
- Analyze social media metrics and generate reports to track performance, identify trends, and optimize strategies.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve engagement and reach.
- Monitor social media channels for hospitality industry trends, audience feedback, and community engagement opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, best practices and technologies.
- Maintains Louisville Tourism’s list of earned third-party city accolades.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Social Media Coordinator or similar role, preferably within the tourism or hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in using social media platforms and tools such as Hootsuite, Crowdriff, or Sprout Social.
- Strong understanding of social media metrics and analytics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for visual aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends, as needed, to capture content.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Photography and videography skills.
- Photo and video editing skills.
- Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
- In-depth knowledge of Louisville.
- Passion for travel
