Louisville Tourism is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Content Marketing Manager to join our dynamic Marketing Communications team. As a destination marketing organization, our primary goal is to increase travel and tourism to the vibrant city of Louisville, KY. The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for storytelling and an eye for detail. The Content Marketing Manager will report directly to the Director of Marketing, and be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing our content across various digital platforms to enhance the visibility and appeal of Louisville as a premier travel destination.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with Louisville Tourism’s marketing goals, objectives and themes.
- Create high-quality, engaging, and informative content, which could include writing blog posts, updating web copy, email newsletters and other multimedia elements.
- Develop relationships and utilize local–based content creators to provide authentic and relevant content for LT to utilize. Examples of content include photography, video, blogs, articles, etc.
- Leverage local photographers and videographers to enhance Louisville Tourism’s owned assets
- Manage content-related projects from inception to completion, which could include photo and video shoots, e-marketing campaigns, other contracted jobs.
- Manage email marketing strategies for our segmented target markets and interest groups.
- In coordination with team, create and manage an editorial calendar to ensure consistent content delivery and alignment with marketing campaigns and events.
- Work with Tech Marketing team to implement SEO best practices to improve the visibility and ranking of our content on search engines.
- Monitor and analyze content performance metrics to refine strategies and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Work closely with other marketing comms team members and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective content across all channels.
- Conduct research to stay updated on industry trends, audience preferences, and competitor activities to inform content strategies.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on content-related tasks and best practices. This includes leading internal efforts to ensure LT staff members have assets necessary to distribute content to their clients.
- Coordinate and develop regular educational content for 78 Social program.
- Lead organization and distribution of all LT-owned content. This includes photos, videos, etc. and how this is distributed to internal and external stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience in content management, digital marketing, or a similar role.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and social media platforms.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and metrics.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong networker, with the ability to maintain working relationships.
- Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Passion for travel.
- Experience in hospitality and tourism.
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of Louisville.
- Photography and videography skills.
- Knowledge and appreciation of Bourbon is a plus.
