Jim & Barbara Conkin - Legacy of Two Local Geologists

Annie Conkin, the daughter of a pair of geology professors, will talk about what it was like to have parents who roamed the eastern U.S., Australia, and China in their studies. Dr. James E. Conklin (Jim) was at the University of Louisville and Mrs. Barbara Conkin established the geoscience program at the Jefferson Community College. Both taught, published numerous studies, wrote books, and influenced the careers of many students from the 1960s – 1990s.
