All About Invasives Species - and What you Can Do

Invasive species are among the leading threats to global biodiversity, altering ecosystems, outcompeting native species, and causing significant economic impact. This presentation explores the most common invasive species in Kentuckiana. Attendees will learn how invasive organisms spread, why some species become invasive, and what can be done to control or prevent their expansion. We will conclude the talk with a short weed wrangle on the grounds of the Falls of the Ohio State Park. Laura Swessel, long-time park volunteer and high school science teacher will present this free program. Meets in the classroom.
