Louisville Gains New Nonstop Air Service to San Francisco

Inaugural route starts May 27 with twice-weekly flights

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 8, 2022) – Breeze Airways today expanded its reach from the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) by announcing new nonstop service to San Francisco (SFO), marking the airport’s first ever nonstop flight between the Gateway to Napa Valley and the Gateway to Bourbon Country.

Service to San Francisco will takeoff on Friday, May 27, just in time for the summer travel season. The flight will be twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays on Breeze’s brand-new Airbus A220. Today’s announcement means Breeze now offers nonstop service to four cities from SDF including Charleston, New Orleans and Tampa.

Breeze is also making sure horse racing fans have plenty of options to Louisville for this year’s Kentucky Derby. They have added special nonstop flights to SDF for the annual occasion from the Northeast and East Coast, increasing capacity by 190% with 22 total scheduled flights from Thursday before to the Monday after race day. This includes service from Hartford, CT (BDL), Rhode Island (PVD), Long Island, NY (ISP) as well as both Norfolk (ORF) and Richmond, VA (RIC). Tickets are now on sale for these special Derby fares at FlyBreeze.com.

“I’ve said before, we were confident 2022 was going to be a good year,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “Providing even more options for travelers is always our goal, and the fact we are continuing to expand SDF’s reach to the West Coast – now including the entire Bay area and Northern California – is another great way for us to continue the momentum.”
