Be a Tourist in Downtown’s Hometown Tourism Celebration

Downtown Venues and Attractions to Participate with Half-Priced Admissions February 1-11

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (January 9, 2024) – Louisville Downtown Partnership (LDP) today announced the re-launching of the Hometown Tourism Celebration, encouraging residents to visit well-loved or new-to-them attractions, and supporting the growing number of destinations that Downtown Louisville has to offer.

The Downtown Hometown Tourism Celebration will take place February 1 – 11, 2024, during which time anyone with a valid Kentucky or Indiana ID, local college ID, or military ID will receive half-off a regular admission ticket to participating Downtown venues.

“We’re thrilled to re-introduce and grow a campaign that enjoyed success in the past,” said Rebecca Fleischaker, executive director of LDP. “The week-long celebration not only encourages locals to be tourists in their own hometown, but it also supports and promotes the strength and density of Downtown’s attractions and hotels.”

Participating attractions and venues include Angel’s Envy Distillery, Buzzard’s Roost Whiskey Row Experience, Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, Frazier History Museum, Louisville Ballet, Muhammad Ali Center, SAR Genealogical Research Library, Slugger Museum & Factory, KMAC Museum, and the Waterfront Botanical Gardens.

In collaboration with Louisville Tourism, hotels also are participating with various discounts and package deals, offering a special static rate for the duration of the celebration. Hotels in the promotion include the AC Marriott, Hampton Inn Downtown, Hotel Genevieve, and the Myriad.

“We are lucky to live in one of Travel + Leisure’s ‘Top 50 Cities in the World to Visit in 2024,’” said Cleo Battle, President & CEO of Louisville Tourism. “Louisville’s Hometown Tourism Celebration gives us all an opportunity to visit a myriad of iconic and new attractions to rediscover the city that everyone is talking about.”

Admission tickets can be purchased online by individual location or multiple days and locations together. Walk-ins during the Downtown Hometown Tourist Celebration will be allowed but reserved tickets are encouraged. Tickets and hotel nights can be pre-purchased here.
