Toogie's Table is hiring for an Executive Sous Chef!

Summary

The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations. This position also assists with maintaining quality food, safety, and sanitation standards in the kitchen. The Chef de Cuisine runs the kitchen when the Executive Chef is not present by managing the kitchen staff and ensuring proper execution of the menu.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages food preparation, kitchen operations, and kitchen staff when the Executive Chef is not present.

Ensures all food meets quality standards, is plated correctly, and served on time.

Enforces best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen.

Incorporates feedback from staff, patrons, and management to help make improvements and resolve issues.

Assists the Executive Chef with administrative work as needed.

Tracks industry trends and makes suggestions for menu updates and new recipes.

Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, firing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Skills and Experience

Relevant experience or training, which may be demonstrated via degree or certificate, completion of apprenticeship, or other experience necessary to become trained as a highly skilled professional cook.

At least two years of culinary experience required.

Demonstrates in-depth food knowledge and can translate it to the plate.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, staff, and suppliers.

Possesses strong math and Microsoft Office skills.

Ability to work on your feet for more than eight hours.
