My career path has been as follows- a graduate of Saint Xavier. 1984 State Sales Manager Executive Inn Hotel, Director of Sales Breckinridge Inn Hotel, General Manager Breckinridge Inn Hotel, Area General Manager Breckinridge Inn Hotel, Ramada Inn East, Holiday Inn Zorn, General Manager Holiday Inn Lakeview, Clarksville Indiana, National Sales Manager Louisville Convention Bureau, Senior Sales Manager Louisville Convention Bureau, Director of Sports Development Louisville Sports Commission, Vice President of Sports Development Louisville Sports Commission. As of March 2022. As a 15-year veteran of the Louisville Sports Commission, I will be promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer effective February 2023.Any advice for those seeking jobs in the industry: There are so many diverse opportunities in the hospitality industry from hotels to convention centers, attractions to sports facilities. They all have sales and services teams, bookkeeping and accounting departments, restaurants and banquet facilities. Literally, the list is endless so there is something for everyone in our industry. It's a good clean industry that makes a difference in the community you are in. The people in the industry are friendly, service and goal-oriented and generally fun to work with. My path is one that you could not necessarily see when I started but each opportunity became clear at the time they were open and I just had to pursue them. It has been a fantastic journey for over 37 years. I have traveled much of the world and made many friends in our industry and am always happy to speak with anyone who is considering our industry for their career choice.
