I graduated from Fairdale High School and my first hospitality job was at Holiday Inn as a bellman and van driver. After working as the Bellman/Van Driver I was moved to the Front Desk at the hotel. I asked my first General Manager about advancement opportunities and he told me, “The more you know, the more you grow”. I decided that day that I was going to work and train in every department to help me become a General Manager at the Seelbach Hilton.

Hotels are always looking for potential associates with great work ethic, “works well with others” mentality, communication skills, and enjoys taking care of the guests. Most hotels have multiple departments including - Front Office, Sales & Marketing, Accounting, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Security and Food & Beverage. The hotel industry is an ever-changing, fast paced, exciting world that provides a lot of advancement opportunities for associates, but you must put in the work and be patient.
