Logistics and eCommerce
Founded in 1778 on the banks of the Ohio River, the city has been a logistics hub for over two centuries.
Today Louisville is within a day's drive of over half the U.S. population sitting at the intersection of Interstates 64, 65, and 71. Furthermore, because of the city’s central location, companies have the ability to move products to 80% of the world’s population in less than 48 hours.
The UPS WorldPort air hub in Louisville is the largest automated package handling facility in the world and the center point of UPS’s worldwide air network. More than 300 flights arrive and depart daily, and the hub processes roughly two million packages a day, increasing to more than four million during the December peak holiday shipping season.
