Second-largest trade show in America with a total estimated economic impact of more than $84 million.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 16, 2020) — The Utility Expo, formerly ICUEE, is returning to the Kentucky Exposition Center, September 28-30, 2021 and announced it’s committed to staying in Louisville through 2029. The Utility Expo is the premier event for utility professionals and construction contractors, providing insight into the latest innovations and trends affecting their industries. More than 19,000 attendees are expected to explore more than 30 acres of equipment, products and technologies.

“We’re excited to return to Louisville with our new name - The Utility Expo, reflecting an event that introduces professionals from all utility sectors to the new equipment, ideas and innovations they need – all in one location. There is no better place to continue to host this experience than Louisville, KY and the Kentucky Exposition Center,” said John Rozum, show director for The Utility Expo. “We value our continued partnership with KEC and Louisville Tourism and appreciate the entire city of Louisville for your hospitality. We look forward to coming home to Louisville in 2021.”

This partnership began in 1987 when the show required a facility with indoor and outdoor exhibit space capable of handling demos and test drives for cranes, earth-movers and heavy-duty trucks. The Kentucky Exposition Center was – and continues to be – uniquely qualified to deliver whatever it takes to make The Utility Expo a success.

“Kentucky Exposition Center, with its more than 300 acres of flexible outdoor space, is one of the only venues capable of hosting events of this scale and significance. We look forward to continuing to a partnership with The Utility Expo for many years to come,” said David S. Beck, President and CEO of Kentucky Venues.

The Utility Expo offers multiple hands-on learning opportunities, both inside and outside the Kentucky Exposition Center.

● Equipment is exhibited in job-like conditions so attendees can experience demonstrations “in the field” – at ground level, underground or overhead.

● Unique educational opportunities and field classrooms provide learning opportunities.

● Networking opportunities with more than 19,000 industry peers from all utility sectors.

“We are honored and appreciative The Utility Expo has re-committed to bring their biennial show to Louisville through 2029,” said Karen Williams, Louisville Tourism President & CEO. “Our city enjoys a long history with this key organization who are well-known as the experts in the utility professionals industry. We are thrilled to welcome them back in 2021 and beyond under their new name."

The Utility Expo was No. 2 on the 2019 Trade Show News Network Top Trade Shows list. The event is bi-annual and generates approximately $16.9 million in economic impact per expo. The Kentucky Exposition Center is booking long-term events, looking towards the future to help reopen and strengthen Kentucky’s economy. For more information, visit www.theutilityexpo.com.
