The 16th Annual Flyover Film Festival Soars in Louisville
Discover new films, meet the filmmakers and experience lively discussions at Louisville’s premier program
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 16, 2026)—The Louisville Film Society presents the Flyover Film Festival for its 16th anniversary, happening Wednesday, July 22 through Saturday, Aug. 1 at venues throughout Louisville. Since 2009, the Flyover Film Festival has grown from a grassroot showcase into a nationally recognized event where Kentucky takes spotlight.
Flyover is one of the region’s most visible film and cultural events, offering audiences a chance to experience everything from prestigious Sundance premieres to award-winning documentaries with strong local and regional ties.
The festival gives movie fans the opportunity to hear directly from creators through filmmaker Q&As, industry panels, networking events, regional premieres, awards and parties, all while spotlighting new indie films and emerging voices in cinema.
Throughout the two-week festival, audiences can explore a mix of screenings and special events designed to celebrate storytelling, connect film lovers and showcase the region's growing creative community.
