New ‘Signature Louisville’ Photo Collection Greets Visitors at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport

The Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) pedestrian tunnels have a new look called “Signature Louisville” following a year-long closure for renovations.

Renovations to the tunnels that provide convenient access to the new rental car facility include the removal of the moving sidewalks, new terrazzo flooring, a new ceiling, enhanced lighting fixtures, upgrades to the mechanical and electrical system and photography that captures some of Louisville’s most beloved and recognizable landmarks and experiences.

“We appreciate the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport’s ongoing commitment to enhancing our guest experience upon arrival,” said Doug Bennett, Executive Vice President of Louisville Tourism. “The new ‘Signature Louisville’ photograph collection is a perfect way to welcome and engage travelers, inspiring them to visit Louisville’s iconic landmarks while showcasing the city’s unique brand of Southern hospitality, one-of-a kind attractions and urban Bourbon experiences.”

Photographs in the new hallways feature images of 4th Street Live!, 21c Museum Hotel, Angel’s Envy, Belle of Louisville, Churchill Downs, Copper & Kings, Kentucky Kingdom, Louisville Extreme Park, Louisville FC/Racing Louisville FC, Louisville MegaCavern, Louisville Slugger, Louisville Zoo, Old Forester, St. James Court, University of Louisville, UPS, Waterfront Wednesday, Whiskey Row and an iconic photo of Muhammad Ali.

The tunnel renovation is part of the SDF Next Program which focuses on meeting the needs of the airport’s growing customer base. As part of SDF Next, which was announced in December 2019, $400 million in improvements are expected at the airport in the coming years.
