The citywide series offers locals and visitors an authentic, laid‑back way to experience Louisville’s evolving music scene while enjoying the city’s vibrant hospitality settings.
Bluegrass is as authentic to Kentucky as Bourbon considering Bluegrass music was born in Kentucky—shaped by the hills of Appalachia, rooted in acoustic sounds, and passed down through rich musical traditions. The LouGrass Sessions celebrate Kentucky’s heritage while blending bluegrass with Americana, blues, jazz, and beyond. Louisville has long played a role in bluegrass history, from hosting major festivals to nurturing legendary musicians. Today, the genre continues to evolve, and Louisville’s own take—known as LouGrass—carries that legacy forward through a new generation of artists honoring tradition while pushing the sound ahead.
