Louisville’s Award-Winning Hotel Scene Earns Trifecta of Major Hospitality Industry Honors
Louisville hotel properties recognized by Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler and Marriott Hotels
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 14, 2026)— In a span of just two weeks, three of the city's most distinctive properties received major recognition from the travel industry's most influential brands. Hotel Bourré Bonne was named the No. 3 City Hotel in the Continental U.S. in Travel + Leisure's 2026 World's Best Awards, while 21c Museum Hotel Louisville earned an inaugural Condé Nast Traveler Triple Crown Award and Hotel Distil was named Marriott's Hotel of the Year for the United States and Canada.
The triple recognition highlights three very different but distinctly Louisville hotel experiences:
- Located on West Main Street’s Museum Row, 21c Museum Hotel Louisville combines a boutique hotel with a free contemporary art museum open to the public 24 hours a day. The property, which is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 21c brand in 2026, occupies restored 19th-century tobacco and bourbon warehouses and features rotating exhibitions alongside the acclaimed Proof on Main restaurant. The hotel was also recently highlighted on CBS Saturday Morning as one of the country’s standout hotel experiences.
- Hotel Bourré Bonne, Louisville's newest luxury hotel, debuted at No. 3 among the ‘Best City Hotels’ in the Continental United States in Travel + Leisure's 2026 World's Best Awards. The annual rankings, determined by hundreds of thousands of reader votes, recognize standout hotels that combine memorable design, exceptional service and a distinctive sense of place
-A few blocks east, Hotel Distil showcases Louisville’s bourbon heritage through a luxury hotel experience inside the former J.T.S. Brown & Sons barreling warehouse. The Autograph Collection property has become a cornerstone of Whiskey Row thanks to immersive bourbon programming, its nightly Repeal Day-inspired toast, newly opened 1933 Society speakeasy and bourbon-centric guest experiences such as its Kentucky Peerless-themed suite. The hotel’s flagship restaurant, Repeal Oak-Fired Steakhouse, was recently listed as one of OpenTable’s ‘Top Hotel Restaurants in America.’
“From an art-filled stay at 21c Museum Hotel to a immersive bourbon experiences at Hotel Bourré Bonne and Hotel Distil, Louisville’s hotels offer travelers experiences they simply can’t find anywhere else,” said Cleo Battle, President and CEO of Louisville Tourism. “These honors reflect the creativity, authenticity and hospitality that define our city and continue to attract visitors seeking meaningful and memorable travel experiences.”
The awards add to Louisville's growing national profile as a destination known for its bourbon experiences, culinary scene, arts and culture offerings and collection of independent and luxury hotels.
