Louisville Tourism Names New Northeast National Sales Manager

Louisville Tourism has created a fourth National Sales Manager position, naming Elizabeth Yienger as the National Sales Manager.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (January 27, 2020) – Louisville Tourism has created a fourth National Sales Manager position, naming Elizabeth Yienger as the National Sales Manager, responsible for Northeast sales territories. Yienger began her new position on Monday, January 13, 2020.

Yienger has an extensive background in convention sales and a storied career throughout the hospitality and tourism industries. She has held Regional Director Roles with Hilton Worldwide and Starwood Hotels, covering large accounts throughout the Northeast. She has also held regional roles for both Visit Baltimore and Visit Orlando, covering the Northeast corporate and association customers for each of the organizations.

“We are thrilled to welcome Elizabeth to our convention sales team,” said Karen Williams, President & CEO of Louisville Tourism. “Her background and authenticity are exactly what we were looking for to represent Louisville to the Northeast market.”

Yienger’s responsibilities include promoting and selling Louisville as a convention, meeting and trade show destination to area-based national associations, government organizations and corporations from Maryland to Maine and will be based in New York.

Yienger graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She will be active in several membership-based hospitality industry organizations including PCMA, ASAE and the Northeast CVB Rep’s organization. She is native to the Louisville area, having grown up in neighboring Jeffersonville, Indiana. She started her hospitality career at the Hyatt Regency Louisville. Elizabeth is married and has two children.

Additionally, Louisville Tourism welcomed Shelby Basham in the role of Convention Sales Assistant. Prior to Louisville Tourism, Basham operated all-inclusive educational tours within the Civil Rights markets and Upward Bound trips to college campuses. Basham will support three convention development managers in the market segments of sports, trade, business, commercial, hobby, direct selling as well as leads form the Midwest market. She is a graduate of Indiana University with a Marketing degree and volunteers with several organizations including Louisville Grows and Dress for Success. Basham started her position in December.
