Louisville Celebrates Culture, Community and the Arts at Free Aflora 2026 Festival
Celebration of art, music, dance and community
LOUISVILLE, KY (October 15, 2026) — Louisville’s vibrant arts and cultural scene will take center stage this weekend as Aflora 2026 brings a free, daylong celebration of art, music, dance and community to Old Forester’s Paristown Hall and Christy’s Garden on Sunday, Oct. 18.
Presented by Kentucky Performing Arts and La Casita Center, the event celebrates the sixth annual Aflora art exhibition and invites residents and visitors alike to experience Louisville’s multicultural community through visual and performing arts.
Running from noon to 8 p.m., Aflora 2026 will feature the art exhibition inside Old Forester’s Paristown Hall alongside indoor and outdoor stages showcasing mariachi, Mexican folkloric dance, Cuban dance, flamenco, salsa and live music. The celebration concludes with a 7 p.m. concert by YAPA!
This year’s theme, “Afloramos: We flourish together,” draws inspiration from the proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together,” highlighting the connections created through culture, creativity and shared experiences.
The celebration also connects with Paristown’s history as a neighborhood shaped by immigrant communities. During the 19th century, immigrants from France, Germany and Ireland settled in the area, building community while contributing their skills and traditions to Louisville.
“We are honored to be in partnership with the folks at Old Forester’s Paristown Hall and KPA, and uphold the values we share, of Unity strengthened by diversity that will take us farther,” said Ada Asenjo, Aflora Curator.
