Louder Than Life Nominated for Pollstar’s Global ‘Music Festival of the Year’

First nomination for festival after welcoming a record 160,000 music fans in September

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (November 18, 2021) – Leading music industry magazine Pollstar has announced the full list of nominees for its 33rd Annual Pollstar Awards with Louisville’s Louder Than Life festival up for global “Music Festival of The Year (over 30,000 attendance).” The awards “recognize and honor the most successful artists, executives, venues, events and companies in the global live entertainment industry.”

In addition, Gary Spivack, Talent Buyer for Danny Wimmer Presents and Louder Than Life, has been nominated as “Talent Buyer of the Year.” This award recognizes “the talent buyer whose artistic vision and commercial instincts led to packed houses and happy artists and fans.”

This is the first time Louder Than Life has been nominated, after an incredible 2021 edition that welcomed a record-setting 160,000 music fans, making it recognizable as one of the largest rock festivals in America and known as the world’s largest rock n’ roll whiskey festival. This year was also the first year that Louder Than Life expanded to four full days.

Forbes called the festival “the post-pandemic comeback festival” and heralded the event as “metal and rock’s triumphant return,” adding that “DWP’s Louder Than Life was as good as it gets for rock and heavy music.”

Louder Than Life also is unique for highlighting Louisville as a special destination. In addition to the 70 music acts over 4 days, with performances on three stages, festivalgoers were able to enjoy award-winning bourbons, whiskey, spirits, craft beer, and the best food Louisville has to offer, and sponsor activations that celebrated the bourbon culture and culinary heritage of this unique American city.

In 2010, Louisville was named as a “World Festival & Event City” by the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) and has certainly lived up to the designation by hosting a myriad of festivals throughout the year.
