Racing Louisville hosts international powerhouse teams in The Women’s Cup

Louisville, KY (May 7, 2024) – The Women’s Cup returns to Louisville this summer with three names on the global football stage set to join Racing Louisville for the four-team tournament at Lynn Family Stadium.

Italian powerhouse Juventus and South American champion Palmeiras will play in what will be the third edition of The Women’s Cup in Louisville. A fourth international team will be confirmed soon. The event will play out as a knockout tournament over two days, with the semifinals set for Aug. 9 and final set for Aug. 13.

“We are proud to bring again the best of international women’s soccer to Louisville with this fourth summer edition of The Women’s Cup that will be followed by an exciting tournament in Kansas City,” said JP Reynal, chief executive officer of The Women’s Cup. “As the women’s game is growing globally, we are extending our footprint to create opportunities for teams from different continents to play attractive games.”

Racing Louisville and Palmeiras will play at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, in the second semifinal following the first semifinal between Juventus and the soon-to-be-announced fourth team that kicks off at 5 p.m. The winners of those two games will play in the final at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, with the third-place game set to kick off at 5 p.m.
