Beyond Bourbon: Louisville Wine Bar Wins International Acclaim
Nouvelle Bar & Bottle Earns International Wine Honors
Louisville’s wine scene continues to gain national recognition as Nouvelle Bar & Bottle has been awarded Wine Spectator’s 2026 Best of Award of Excellence and an International Silver Star for Best Sparkling Wine List from Star Wine List.
The dual honors place the NuLu wine bar among an elite group of wine destinations recognized for exceptional wine programs, outstanding service, and carefully curated selections from around the world.
Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants and wine bars that offer extensive, thoughtfully curated wine lists spanning multiple regions and vintages. Star Wine List’s International Silver Star highlights Nouvelle’s expertise in sparkling wine and Champagne, recognizing one of the most ambitious sparkling wine programs in the country.
Owned by sommelier John Grisanti, Nouvelle has become known for its extensive cellar, rare vintages, and signature “Completely Irresponsible Champagne List.” The venue has also built a loyal following through wine-focused events, educational tastings, producer visits, and community programming.
Located in Louisville’s vibrant NuLu district, Nouvelle combines a welcoming atmosphere with a world-class wine experience, further strengthening Louisville’s growing reputation as a destination for exceptional food and drink.
“These awards are a testament to our team and the guests who have embraced a culture of curiosity and exploration around wine,” said Grisanti. “We’re honored to represent Louisville on an international stage.”
For visitors looking to explore Louisville beyond bourbon, Nouvelle offers another compelling reason to raise a glass in Bourbon City.
