Road closures for the memorial have been announced
Event Road Closures:
The following streets will be closed during the following times:
Friday, June 10, 2016 – Muhammad Ali Funeral Procession
The following streets will be temporarily closed as the funeral procession approaches. The closures will begin sometime after 9:30 am
• Bardstown Road from 4501 Bardstown Road to the Watterson Expressway westbound
• Watterson Expressway westbound to 1-65 northbound
• 1-65 northbound to I-64 westbound
• Ninth Street from 1-64 to Muhammad Ali Boulevard
• Muhammad Ali Boulevard from Roy Wilkins Boulevard (Ninth Street) to 34th Street
• 34th Street from Muhammad Ali Boulevard to Grand Avenue
• Grand Avenue from 34th Street to 32nd Street
• 32nd Street from Grand Avenue to Broadway
• Broadway from 32nd Street to Cave Hill Cemetery entrance
10 am - approximately 6 pm
• Second Street from River Road to Main Street
• Third Street from River Road to Main Street
4 pm until traffic has been expedited
• Main Street
3 pm - mid-evening
• Sixth Street from River Road to Main Street
• Washington Street from Sixth Street to Seventh Street
No Parking Areas - All Day
• Main Street from First Street to Fourth Street
• Third Street from River Road to Market Street
• First Street from Witherspoon Street to Main Street
• 3200 - 3300 block Grand Avenue
• Washington Street from Sixth Street to Seventh Street
Taxis can be accessed on Market Street from Second Street to Third Street
