Immerse Yourself in Louisville's Bourbon Lifestyle
Louisville is home to the world’s only Urban Bourbon Experience – a myriad of distilleries, bourbon-themed festivals and events and the Urban Bourbon Trail®. A great place to kick off your Bourbon adventure is at the Frazier History Museum. There you’ll find the Welcome Center and Official Starting Point of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®.
More than ten distilleries are right here in Louisville with many located downtown and within walking distance of one another. Louisville is also home to the Urban Bourbon Trail – a cocktail and culinary experience highlighting the city’s best Bourbon bars and restaurants. Be sure to try Louisville’s Official Cocktail, the Old Fashioned, and keep an eye out for Bourbon-inspired food from local chefs.
Bourbon also receives prime billing at many of our festivals and events, like Bourbon & Beyond, the Bourbon Classic, Mint Julep Month and Old Fashioned Fortnight, to name a few. Other ways to experience Bourbon in Louisville include checking out one of Louisville’s speakeasies, shopping for rare and hard-to-find bottles, crafting your own blended Bourbon and more.
Once considered the “Wall Street of Whiskey” Louisville has been a spirits-soaked civilization ever since Evan Williams first marketed his whiskey to the city in 1783 and it's once again brimming with Bourbon experiences.
Frazier History Museum
The Frazier History Museum is a world-class museum located on Museum Row in the Bourbon District of downtown Louisville and their Spirit of Kentucky®, offers a visual guide to the history, craft and culture of Bourbon whiskey.
Whiskey lovers can soak up the ultimate Bourbon City experience even in their sleep with these Bourbon themed B&Bs and hotels.
Urban Bourbon Trail®
If you're more into the eating and drinking portions of your Bourbon discovery the Urban Bourbon Trail is an ideal complement to your distillery tour lineup.
Each of the stops along the trail has at least 60 Bourbons on its menu. (And if the establishment serves food, you’ll also find Bourbon-inspired dishes, too).
The UBT Passport is your guide to these spirited bars and restaurants.
