Kentucky Maple Syrup
Maple Bacon Biscuits
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar (white or brown)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons butter (cold and cut into 6 portions)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons Kentucky maple syrup
- 1 egg
- 3 slices cooked bacon, chopped
Preheat oven to 450 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment.
Mix all dry ingredients. Cut in cold butter pieces with pastry blender. Stir in milk, syrup and egg until a sticky dough forms.
Flour work surface, hands and rolling pin. Roll out dough into a circle. Sprinkle with chopped bacon, fold over dough and roll again.
Cut with biscuit cutter into 6-10 biscuits per desired thickness and size.
Bake until golden brown 12-15 minutes.
My Morning Maple
- 1 ½ oz. Bourbon
- ½ oz. Coffee Liqueur
- ¼ oz. Maple Syrup
- 1 oz. Cold Brew Coffee
- 3-4 dashes Black Walnut Bitters
Stir ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a rocks glass with a large ice cube.
