Louisville’s coffee culture has caught the attention of people across the coffee industry from roasters to baristas to everyday connoisseurs.
In the past year alone, Sunergos Coffee was recognized for having “America’s Best Espresso” and a Louisville barista placed second in a national latte art championship and Quill’s Coffee & Vint Coffee placed 1st and 3rdrespectively in a competition for America’s best coffeehouse. And Travel + Leisure named Louisville one of “America’s Best Coffee Cities”.
The foundation for Louisville’s passion for local roasters was laid long before the national “Starbuck’s” craze.
Restaurants began using John Conti Coffee in the 1960’s and Louisville’s first coffee “chain” came along in the 1990’s with Heine Bros. – now with 18 locations.
You’ll need a strong cup of java to get going after a night on the Urban Bourbon Trail, so check out one of the many local roasters in nearly every Louisville neighborhood.
