Breakfast - WAGNER'S PHARMACY* – The history of the Kentucky Derby and Churchill Downs is written on the walls of Wagner’s Pharmacy. Opened in 1922, and featured in everything from the Los Angeles Time to Southern Living to the movie “Secretariat,” Wagner’s is a must for breakfast before heading over to explore Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum.
KENTUCKY DERBY MUSEUM- Experience the greatest 2 minutes in racing at the Kentucky Derby Museum. Be a part of the thrills and traditions of the race as you watch the “Greatest Race” in a 360-degree theatre. Step into the announcer’s booth and call the play-by-play for the race, or try on the jockey silks and climb aboard a race horse to see who in the family has first place bragging rights. Tour the historic Churchill Downs to learn the history of the track and see up close the famous track itself.
FRAZIER HISTORY MUSEUM - Explore over 1,000 years of history throughout the Frazier History Museum with interactive exhibits, hands-on learning opportunities, and seeing history come to life through costumed actors who bring visitors face-to-face with some of the events and people who changed the world.
LOUISVILLE SLUGGER MUSEUM & FACTORY- Located along Louisville “Museum Row,” you can’t miss the 120-foot-tall Louisville Slugger bat welcoming you to the museum and factory. See how the famous Louisville Slugger bats are made, and hold bats used by baseball superstars. Experience what it’s like to face a 90-mile-per-hour fastball or take a swing with historic replica bats in the batting cages.
Lunch - BRISTOL BAR & GRILLE*-In the heart of Main Street, the Bristol has been serving Louisville for over 28 years. Perfect place to recharge before going on to your next attraction. Be sure to start with an order of their famous Green Chili Wontons or try the crowd-pleasing Theresa’s Sweet Chili Linguine or Steeplechase Salad.
KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER– Explore three floors of exciting, interactive, and hands-on exhibits. You can explore the mysteries of space and gain an astronauts’ point of view when you climb inside a space capsule. Unravel the mysteries of ancient Egypt as you follow the story of a 2,500-year-old mummy.
MUHAMMAD ALI CENTER – Stroll through the award-winning, multicultural center dedicated to the life and legacy of Louisville native son, Muhammad Ali. Learn the story behind Ali’s incredible life and the core principles that fueled his journey become the “Greatest of All Time.” You can even step into the boxing ring and take on the Champ, see a replica of the infamous red bike that started his boxing career, and get an up-close look at the Olympic torch he used to light the cauldron at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Dinner - TROLL PUB*- Located in historic Whiskey Row, Troll Pub was built using the original building materials. The menu consists of classic pub favorites. Look for Louie, the 8-foot-tall Troll, pointing you in the right direction.
After Dinner - BLUEGRASS INDOOR KARTING - Determine who’s the fastest in the family at Bluegrass Indoor Karting. Experience speeds up to 40-mph on this 1000’ indoor go-kart track.
