CAVE HILL CEMETARY SELF-GUIDED TOUR – Built in 1848, this 296-acre cemetery is the final resting places for many of Louisville famous citizens from Bourbon Barons to J. Graham Brown (the inventor of the Hot Brown) to Colonel Sanders to Muhammad Ali. Cave Hill Cemetery is also an outdoor museum with many hundreds of exquisite works of monumental art marking the gravesite of Louisville citizens; one of the finest arboretums in the United States with over 500 varieties of trees and shrubs; and home to a large selection of waterfowl who live along one of the five lakes within the grounds.
WATERWORKS MUSEUM AT LOUISVILLE WATER TOWER PARK – Nestled along the banks of the Ohio River, you’ll step inside the WaterWorks Museum to see the history of Louisville’s water come to live! Located inside the original Pumping Station No. 1, the WaterWorks Museum highlights the company’s archive of historic photographs, films, and memorabilia, some of which dates back to the 1860s. Discover the Louisville Water Company’s contributions to safe drinking water through its innovations in science and engineering.
Lunch - AGAINST THE GRAIN* - Along Main Street at Louisville Slugger Field, guests are invited to take a seat inside where they can watch the brewer work his brewery magic, or if it’s warm enough they can dine al fresco at Louisville’s first brewer owned and operated brewpub. Offering exciting and innovative beers, as well as a fresh and local approach to smokehouse fare with a gastropub flare.
LOUISVILLE SLUGGER MUSEUM & FACTORY - You can’t miss the 120-foot-tall Louisville Slugger bat welcoming you to the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. See how the famous bats are made, hold bats used by baseball’s superstars, experience what it’s like to face a 90-mile-per-hour fastball, or take a sing with historic replica bats in the batting cages. You even get to take a mini Slugger bat home with you!
FRAZIER HISTORY MUSEUM - Located along “Museum Row,” the Frazier History Museum takes guests on a journey through 1,000 years of history with interactive and ever-changing exhibits, performances by costumed interpreters and engaging special events and programs.
Dinner & Entertainment - THE DINNER DETECTIVE MURDER MYSTERY* – Solve a hilarious murder case while you feast on a fantastic four-course dinner. Just beware. The killer is hiding somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a prime suspect!
Breakfast - TOAST ON MARKET* - Begin the day with a fabulous breakfast of pancakes, French toast, or omelets at Toast on Market, located in the NULU gallery district in downtown Louisville.
RABBIT HOLE DISTILLERY - Distilling is baked in Louisville’s culture. Rabbit Hole is at the city’s creative heart, the NULU district, the nexus of old and new, where artists and entrepreneurs pursue their vision without budgeting for regret. From grain to bottle, inside Rabbit Hole, you’ll witness the creation of modern spirits.
FLYING AXES – Forget the darts…how about throwing some axes? Compete against your friends to see who can score the highest points in the best of three rounds.
ANGEL'S ENVY DISTILLERY - Opened in 2016 along historic Whiskey Row, Angel’s Envy offers visitors a fully operational urban distillery experience unlike any other. See the distillation process from beginning to end, with the tour ending in the Finishing Room with a tasting of Angel’s Envy.
Lunch – DOC CROW’S SOUTHERN SMOKEHOUSE* - Located in the historic Whiskey Row of downtown Louisville, Doc Crow’s offers the freshest flavors of American Southern cuisine. The traditional menu celebrates classic seafood favorites from the coastal areas and diverse barbecue styles found throughout the interior regions. This Southern institution pays homage to its Whiskey Row location with a wide selection of the world’s great whiskies and a focus on America’s most celebrated spirit, bourbon.
MUHAMMAD ALI CENTER - Stroll through the award-winning, multicultural center dedicated to the life and legacy of Louisville’s native son, Muhammad Ali. Learn the story behind Ali’s incredible live and the core principles that fueled his journey to become the “Greatest of All Time.” You can event step into the boxing ring and take on the Champ, see a replica of the infamous red bike that started his boxing career, and get an up-close look at the Olympic torch he used to light the cauldron at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
EVAN WILLIAMS BOURBON EXPERIENCE – This artisanal distillery celebrates the legacy of Evan Williams, Kentucky’s first distiller. Guests will journey through an immersive tour experience that brings to life the history and traditions of Kentucky’s native spirit complete with a tasting of those spirits.
KENTUCKY DERBY MUSEUM - Experience the greatest 2 minutes in racing at the Kentucky Derby Museum. Be a part of the thrills and traditions of the race as you watch the “Greatest Race” in a 360-degree theatre. Step into the announcer’s booth and call the play-by-play for the race, or try on the jockey silks and climb aboard a race horse to see who in the family has first place bragging rights. Tour the historic Churchill Downs to learn the history of the track and see up close the famous track itself.
Dinner – HALL OF FAME CAFÉ - Surround yourself with sports memorabilia featuring the University of Louisville, while enjoying casual American fare featuring offerings from hamburgers to pizza. Stroll through the Walk of Fame and see memorabilia from player, coaches and fans that have supported the University of Louisville over the years.
Breakfast - GRALEHAUS* – Housed inside an Original Highlands Victorian home built in 1905, the Gralehaus is a working coffee haus and café. The Gralehaus features farm fresh made-from-scratch foods showcasing seasonally driven, KY Proud Products.
PAOLI PEAKS – Skiing, snowboarding and snow-tubing less than an hour away from Louisville! Located in the rolling hills of Southern Indiana, Paoli Peaks boasts 15 trails, 8 lifts, multiple ‘learn to ski’ terrains and a top to bottom beginner trail, and an Arctic Blast Snow-tubing area that features 10 lanes that are 700 feet long.
