The mission of Louisville Tourism is to enhance Louisville's economy through tourism — to position and sell our community worldwide, in partnership with the public and private sector, as a premier destination for conventions, trade shows, corporate meetings, group tours and individual leisure travel. In pursuit of its mission, Louisville Tourism generates increased visitor spending, local tax receipts and job development.

Summary: This position will support multiple Sales Managers in the Tourism Development Department, with a considerable amount of time spent entering data into the Bureau’s Simpleview system. The work schedule may be Monday through Friday, or as otherwise agreed, with no more than a total of 24 hours per week. Pay is $13 per hour and parking is provided.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with updating and entering in tourism accounts, and travel show email entries
  • Organize and update partner collateral file cabinet (i.e. requesting information from attraction/hotel/restaurant partners, printing off profile sheets)
  • Assist in pre-show prep (i.e. appt books, profile sheets, pulling items). May also include packing and shipping items to show sites
  • Assist with post-show wrap up (i.e. compile information and assemble fulfillments packets, and storing show items)
  • Help oversee the leisure hotel booking incentive program with gift fulfillment and deliveries
  • Assist Coordinator with projects like maintaining the inventory closet and meeting preparation
  • Assist in general office tasks
  • Other duties as needed

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with timely and accurate data entry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet research
  • Ability to prepare and format letters
  • Experience working with customers over the phone
  • Experience in hospitality/tourism industry a plus
