We have an immediate opening for a Packaging Supervisor to join our dynamic team! This position reports to the Commissary Manager. Responsibilities & Duties: Maintains policies and procedures in accordance with company policies and food safety governing bodies. Schedules and assigns workloads to direct reports. Conducts quality inspections on raw merchandise. Ensures visual accuracy to recipes during packaging. Analyze batches before filling begins and ensures adherence to specifications. Also ensures packaging codes are correct and package quality meets organizational standards prior to start up and audits throughout the shift. Collaborates with chefs on production lines for proper final packaging quality. Alerts Commissary Manager immediately when they identify issues with product preparation, pouch integrity, package labeling, food safety and sanitation. Prepares, packages, weighs, and prices products for sale. Ensures commitment to operational excellence, maintaining work area according to company policies and procedures; ensuring quality and date control standards for packaging; securing fragile and high shrink merchandise; eliminating waste; and ensuring merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and procedures. Arrives on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings. Follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with established procedures, including HACCP Plan, Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices. Maintains, or ensures maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment cleanliness, repair, and safety standards. Immediately reports safety hazards. Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a management or supervisory role. Thorough product, production, and equipment knowledge for all packaging items. High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for Haymarket products, core values, and company philosophy. Ability to: Follow a production schedule and prioritize tasks. Identify and troubleshoot issues and provide appropriate solutions. Visually examine products and quality for freshness. Deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow team members, customers, and vendors. Follow directions and procedures, effective time management and organization skills. Experience with Modified Atmosphere Packaging. Experience with Shrink Tunnel Packaging is preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age to work with heavy machinery. Basic math skills, proficient with Apple iWork and Microsoft Office Suite applications. Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team. Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency. Must have the flexibility to work weekends and with working hours. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift 50 pounds Standing/walking 6-8 hours. Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals. Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezers), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to work in wet and dry conditions. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery. Ability to use ladders.
