We offer six restaurants and lounges; 130,000 square feet of meeting space; 53 meeting rooms; over 1,300 guest rooms; the city’s best fitness center; and six retail outlets.We are currently hiring a Senior Catering Sales Manager who will be responsible for achieving annual catering sales and profits, while working in partnership with operations to deliver exceptional Galt House customer service. Results are achieved through analysis and implementation of objectives and promoting the Galt House experienceSALES AND OPERATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:•Responsible for developing the Social Catering top line revenue streams including but not limited to: weddings, charity events, foundations, galas, holiday parties•Actively engages in all local events in Louisville and surrounding areas in order to attract and drive trial business for the Galt House•Maintains membership in all local catering and event organizations to promote the Galt House brand and its diverse array of venues•Ensures all catering services exceed guest expectations•Successfully presents Galt House catering services to guests in a manner that exceeds guest expectations and ensures maximum profitability for the hotel•Communicates client's needs through timely and detailed written and verbal communications to ensure internal understanding / compliance and external guest's expectation of services•Has location specific food and wine knowledge•Initiates contact with clients to secure their food and beverage selections in advance of event dates•Has strong attention to detail•Holds team accountable for sequential steps of service to deliver great guest service•Ensure that team members consistently deliver genuine hospitality to every guest, every time•Ensures show quality standards are maintained at all times•Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, guests, subcontractors, not-for-profits and Galt House team members•Regularly obtains feedback from clients and guests to improve operations•Supports and communicates Company initiatives•Responds and assists in any departmental guest service issues•Executes all menus, promotions and programs as outlined by the Director of Catering in accordance with Galt House standards•Develops and executes strategic plans in accordance with Galt House strategic plans both short and long term.CONTROLS•Thoroughly and accurately uses applicable Galt House systems (Purchasing Systems, Point-of-sale, Delphi FDC, iDeas and more)•Achieves daily sales and assigned cost goals•Achieves assigned budget goals•Employs good safety and sanitation practices•Follows and enforces responsible alcohol service policies•Executes required daily reporting in a timely manner•Completes required department reports and compiles information at month end closing•Assures the continual process of revenue development•Promotes the sale of profitable Galt House ancillary services•Prepares account forecasts and analysis of social catering sales in accordance with Galt House Guidelines•Assures the complete billing for client services and receipt of payments in accordance with Galt House policies and proceduresTEAM•Uses all performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team•Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale•Conducts regular scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between management and team members•Assists in training and development of team members accordance with Galt House guidelines•Displays a positive attitude towards all team members QUALIFICATIONS:•Able to communicate effectively with management team, guests and team members by speaking and comprehending English•English reading, writing, math and computer skills required•Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products•Stamina to work 60 hours or more per week•Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates•Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts•Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to; slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains•Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking (including stairs) throughout shift•Ability to use hands in using office equipment, including the computer system•Ability to talk and hear to conduct phone correspondence•Close vision and focus capabilities to view computer screen and company documents •Experience with Delphi FDC and iDeas Revenue Solution Software preferred but not essentialPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
