Yelp's Hot & New in Lou: Breaking (Sourdough) Bread with Leaven Bakery
Sourdough bread -- it's kind of a big deal right now. And with the help of Leaven Bakery's Zechariah Maxey, we'll be kneading, mixing and baking our own loaves and then connecting as a group.
Leaven Bakery was started by two local chefs who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 shutdown. Requests from friends and family to bake bread and pastries quickly turned into over 40 orders in the first two weeks, and they are continuously growing. And now they are testing out special bread-making kits!
Leaven Bakery will sell $20 kits that include sourdough starter, enough flour to feed the starter two times leading up to this event and salt. Ordering details will be shared via confirmation emails.
These kits will be optional, and all ingredients will be released ahead of time too in case you want to source these items yourself.

We both have nearly 10 years experience each being professional chefs so sanitation, the health of clients and customers, and producing great food has always been our main focus. Both of us are healthy and have been practicing social distancing and are taking every precaution necessary.
