Back Yard Science Day

Everyone can “do” science! Backyard Science Day brings in experts so you will learn how to contribute by gathering data about the world around us – including in your own back yard. Your smart phone or tablet can connect you to the world of citizen science. Start in the Interpretive Center rotunda for brief instructions and to download appropriate apps between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Then head outdoors to participate in field studies. Activities include pollinators, invasive species, Waldron Shale, carbon capture, river debris, ground cover, clouds, air quality, and birds. This is a great opportunity for youth groups and families.
