Ali had a way with words, and this poetry battle would make the Louisville Lip proud. Southern Fried Poetry Slam is the second largest poetry festival in the nation. Annually, 32 teams representing 32 cities meet for a four-day exhibition of poetic skill. Each day of the festival offers poetry exhibitions, writing workshops, community service projects and theme based open mics.
Started in 1993 to highlight the southeastern region of the nation, Southern Fried Poetry Slam is one of the fastest growing Poetry communities. In 2017, the festival will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in a state and city where it's never been held before...Louisville, Kentucky!
