Overview

The Filson’s exhibits share the stories of the Ohio River Valley using photographs, manuscripts, books and artifacts from the Filson’s extensive collections spanning more than 230 years. Self browse our exhibits weekdays 9 am to 4:30 pm.

Digital exhibits can be accessed on our Omeka website here: https://filsonhistorical.omeka.net/exhibits

Our permanent exhibition: "People Passage Place: Stories of the Ohio Valley" uses the Filson’s vast collections to share stories that shape the social and cultural fabric of the Ohio Valley. This exhibit has been separated into three thematic sections to explore multifaceted perspectives on our region: "Land Labor Water," "People Family Community," and "Culture Creativity Craft." The materials on display have been selected to expand preconceptions and encourage conversations. Items will be rotated periodically to feature fresh Ohio Valley stories.

We also have rotating exhibitions! Visit us to explore!
