Sausage Gravy

Country Sausage Gravy

  • One pound breakfast sausage
  • 2 T flour
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt (use to taste)
  • 1 tsp flour

Fry sausage, reserving grease and cooling sausage patties. Add flour to hot grease pan to form a roux. Slowly add up to 2 cups of milk, to desired thickness.

Add salt and pepper to taste. (Gravy may already be salty with sausage). Crumble 4 sausage patties (or amount desired) into pan and remove from heat. Serve immediately.

Kentucky Sunrise

  • 1.5 ounces Bourbon
  • 3 ounces orange juice
  • ½ ounce Grenadine
  • Orange wheel
  • Cherry

Build the cocktail in a rocks glass filled with ice. Add bourbon and orange juice. Slowly pour in the grenadine so that it sinks to the bottom of the glass rather than mixing in to create a layered appearance. Garnish with a cherry and orange wheel.
