October 29-30, Joyce Howlett and Karen Wallace conducted a site visit with Sue Dickson, Kathleen Cole, Dorothy Smith, Heather Thompson and Christi Nam with the U.S. Army 2008 Installation Management Institute. The group plans to be in Louisville January 12-18 with 1,600 in attendance and an economic impact of $3.5 million.

October 30, Karen Williams will attend Team Louisville on the Road in Frankfort. Karen, along with Angi Van Berg, will attend Tradeshow Week’s Fastest 50 Convention in Atlanta on November 2-4.

October 30, the Bureau will host the annual TEAM Louisville on the Road event at Buffalo Trace Distillery from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. TEAM Louisville on the Road gives the Bureau an opportunity to showcase Louisville to our guests as a meeting destination for their national organizations, but also entice them to bring their state and regional business our way as well. It also gives us a chance to show our state clients how much we appreciate their dedication to our city.

October 30-31, Lisa LeCompte and Rita Edmonds will conduct a site visit for the American Oil Chemists' Society which is considering Louisville for the 2011 Annual Meeting & Expo. The meeting represents 3,710 room nights and an economic impact of $1.4 million.

November 1, Casey Kruer Allen will conduct a site visit with Mr. Peter Brown, American College Personnel Association Associate Executive Director, and Michael Smith, Experient Strategic Account Manager. They are considering Louisville to host either the 2012 or 2013 ACAPA Annual Convention. The group would bring 7,000 room nights and a $2.6 million economic impact.

November 1-2, the Bureau will host representatives from the Association Management Center (AMC) out of Glenview, IL for a Fam Tour. Jennifer Barnett, Katie O'Bryan, Lisa LeCompte and Susan Pass will host guests for a tour of area properties and attractions. AMC manages 18 different association accounts.

November 1-2, Susan Sauer and Karen Wallace will host three people with Centerplate for a site visit. Centerplate will bring approximately 250 people to Louisville in March 2008 with an economic impact of $209,000.

November 2-3, Susan Sauer will conduct a site visit with the chairperson of the Department of Defense School Educators reunion committee. Their group will be meeting in Louisville in July 2008 and should bring approximately 800 people, with an estimated economic impact of nearly $400,000.

“Kentucky Unbridled Adventure” will be the topic at a special meeting this week in Shepherdsville. Tourism Commissioner Randy Fiveash, will be discussing details on how you can get involved in this newest tourism initiative. November 2-6, Dineene Bradley and Nicole Twigg will attend the National Tour Association's annual marketplace in Kansas City, MO. The Louisville CVB will sponsor and make a presentation at the tour operator breakfast and host a Dine Around function for tour operator clients at NTA. Dineene and Nicole will also meet with almost 60 tour operators in charge of planning motorcoach tours in official business appointments while at the show. The Belle of Louisville, Galt House Hotel & Suites and the Muhammad Ali Center will also attend NTA.

The Bureau Services Team has hired Peter Page for the position of Housing/Visitor Services Manager. Peter is new to Louisville, moving from Monterey, Ca. Formerly, he was Special Services Manager at The Lodge at Pebble Beach.

Kappa Delta Pi - 46th Convocation is meeting at the Marriott Downtown. They are expecting 1,500 attendees with an economic impact over $700,000.

Kentucky Senior BETA Club are meeting at KICC. They are expecting 4,000 attendees with an economic impact over $700,000. The Bureau is providing registration assistance.

North American International Livestock Annual Expo is meeting at KEC. They are expecting 60,000 attendees with an economic impact of $8.9 million dollars.

Amateur Softball Association of America Annual Council Meeting is meeting at The Galt House Hotel & Suites. They are expecting 1000 attendees with an economic impact of $1.2 million dollars. The Bureau is providing an on-site city concierge.
